AppClusterX  •  Effective date: August 2, 2026

AppClusterX ("the app", "we", "us") is a collection of local two-player board and table games (Chess, Checkers, Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect Four, Dots and Boxes, Dominoes, Carom, Table Soccer, and similar). This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and what is not collected.

Summary: AppClusterX does not have user accounts, does not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not send any data to us or to third parties. All game data stays on your device, except for the display name and game invitations you choose to exchange directly with a nearby opponent's device when using the "Nearby Play" feature.

1. Data We Do Not Collect

The app does not collect, transmit, or have any mechanism to receive any of the following:

The app does not include any third-party advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or crash-reporting SDK.

2. Data Stored Locally On Your Device

To provide app functionality, the following information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere unless you use Nearby Play (see Section 4):

DataPurposeWhere it's stored
Display name & avatar Shown to you and, if you start a Nearby Play match, to your opponent Local app storage (DataStore preferences)
Game statistics (wins, losses, draws, streaks) Shows your play history and stats per game Local on-device database (SQLite/Room)
App preferences (sound, haptics, theme, board/piece skins) Remembers your chosen settings Local app storage (DataStore preferences)

None of this data is sent to us, to the app developer, or to any analytics or advertising company. If Android's automatic device backup is enabled on your phone, this local data may be included in your own Google Account backup — that backup is managed by Google and controlled by your device's backup settings, not by us.

3. Permissions Used and Why

The app requests the following Android permissions, used strictly to support the optional "Nearby Play" (local two-device multiplayer) feature:

PermissionWhy it's needed
INTERNET Required by Android for standard TCP socket communication, used only to open a direct connection between two nearby devices over your local Wi-Fi network. The app makes no connections to the public internet or any remote server.
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE Lets the app check whether Wi-Fi is on, so it can discover nearby opponents on the same local network.
CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE Needed to reliably discover nearby devices via multicast (mDNS) on your local network while Nearby Play is open.
BLUETOOTH (legacy, Android 11 and below) Allows connecting to an already-paired Bluetooth device as an alternative to Wi-Fi for Nearby Play.
BLUETOOTH_CONNECT (Android 12+) Same purpose as above, using the modern Bluetooth connect permission required on newer Android versions.

The app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or SMS/call permissions. Bluetooth use is limited to devices you have already paired through your system Bluetooth settings — the app never scans for or pairs with new Bluetooth devices itself.

4. Nearby Play (Local Multiplayer)

Nearby Play lets two devices on the same Wi-Fi network, or already paired via Bluetooth, connect directly to each other to play a match — there is no server in between. When you use this feature:

5. Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Since no account creation, contact information, or persistent identifiers are collected or transmitted, the app does not process personal data from users of any age.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any data off of your device in the first place. The app contains no third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics, or tracking.

7. Data Deletion

All app data is stored locally. You can remove it at any time by:
